Chao graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a M.S. degree in City and Regional Planning with specializations in transportation planning and economic development in planning. He also holds a B.S. degree in Economics from The Ohio State University. His previous experience includes transportation planning, transit planning, travel demand modeling, data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).
Chao is proficienct in using CUBE, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Suite. He also has experience with STOPS, R Studio, Python, SPSS, Stata, and Adobe Creative Suite. He is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
Chao has a strong interest in travel demand modeling, and has completed trainings on CUBE and STOPS. With his experience working on the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Activity-based models, and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) models, Chao has worked on modeling assignments for the related projects, including Major Mobility improvement Program (MMIP) and the 2015/2045 travel demand model for Columbus-Phenix City MPO.
Besides travel demand modeling, Chao has also worked on several general planning projects, transit projects, project prioritization, and benefit-cost analysis. He is always eager to work on new and challenging projects.
