Hunza holds dual master's degrees in Regional Planning and Sustainability Science from University of Massachusetts Amherst. Before becoming a planner, she worked in digital banking and freight-tech as a human-centered design practitioner. Her core interests lie at the intersection of gender, transit and climate action. Storytelling and systems-thinking are two of her favorite practices as a planner.
In the past she has worked at IDEO U, teaching human-centered design; Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) on the Community Driven Transportation Plans for the Northeast project, funded by the Department of Energy's Vehicle Technologies Office; and the Connecticut's SCRCOG where she co-wrote the New Haven County's Priority Climate Action Plan with her UMass Planning Studio.
