THE ORIGIN
The story of the booth
In 2017, Jennifer Zhan and Keli Kemp, who had worked together for over 6 years in their previous positions and collaborated on several projects, began discussing branching out on their own. During the brainstorming portion of their new venture, meetings often took place in various coffee shops and restaurant booths around Atlanta, and detailed plans and a leap of faith were made for a launch the following year.
When they opened their first co-working space in Midtown in 2018, it featured similar booths in an open, collaborative style. The booth stuck. Today, we continue the tradition, and MMP's current office still has one — a nod to where it all began.

OUR HISTORY
How we got here
2017-2018
The idea takes shape
Discussions begin in June 2017. By January 2018, Keli and Jen are working out of a co-working space in Midtown Atlanta. Their first hire joins in October.
2019
Our first office
MMP outgrows Midtown and moves to the Healey Building in Downtown Atlanta, one of the city's oldest buildings (constructed 1913–1914, on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977). The entire move fits on one cart. The team is now 6 people.
September 2019
Open house
MMP opens its doors to welcome clients, partners, and friends to the new Downtown Atlanta office.
2020
Recognition
MMP is voted Best Places to Work (Small Business) by employees and named WTS Atlanta 2020 Employer of the Year, while navigating COVID-19 and remote work.
2021
The Modern Mobility Podcast launches
The Modern Mobility Podcast debuts in March. MMP wins the WTS Atlanta Diversity Leadership Award. By year's end, 10 new employees have joined, bringing the team to 25.
2022-2023
Growth and milestones
MMP turns 4, then 5. Team outings include a Braves game and a Beltline dinner. Keli wins WTS Atlanta Woman of the Year.
2024
A new home in Midtown — and our Orlando space opens
MMP packs up and moves from the downtown Atlanta office into the Circa 730 building in Midtown Atlanta in April, complete with a new office booth and much more space for its growing team. The Winter Park space opened in August, extending MMP's reach into Florida.

MMP welcomed clients, partners, and friends to the new Circa 730 office, showing off the space, including the brand-new booth.
August 2026
Kirsten named Partner in the firm
Kirsten Mote, Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, has been named Partner in the firm! Since joining MMP in 2019, Kirsten has been instrumental to the company’s growth, helping expand its portfolio across DOTs, transit agencies, MPOs, and local jurisdictions while modeling the firm’s core values and developing talent within the organization. The new Partner title recognizes her ownership stake and continued role in shaping the company’s future.
