Yasamin is a Transportation Planner with a background in sustainability, local government, and design. She is a Double Jacket, holding both a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Georgia Tech. Yasamin was the Graduate Research Partner at the Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology (WST) at Georgia Tech, where she researched issues of sex and gender in scientific fields and managed a team of 5+ undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral researchers.

Yasamin is passionate about designing more equitable and sustainable communities and has dedicated her career to the public good. She has worked with many communities in Atlanta, across the state, and internationally on projects related to climate, transportation, and equity. Some of these projects include a city-wide heat and flood assessment for Atlanta, Georgia, and a neighborhood-level redesign of Nihonbashi, Tokyo, Japan. Yasamin is skilled in community engagement and public speaking and believes that community members can be some of the most important partners in planning and design. She has skills in GIS and mapmaking, technical/grant writing, and data visualization.
